The braking system of a vehicle has the function of reducing its speed and stopping it. In cars, brake pads are used, which, when braking, are pressed against rotating discs or drums and create resistance to rotation using friction force. Brake pads, discs, and drums are considered consumables and must be replaced when certain wear is reached. The stationary holding of the brake pads is provided by special devices called calipers.
