Swedish Scania AB (JSC) was born at the end of the century before last, when two separate companies were established. They merged in 1911 under the name Scania-Vabis, placing an image of a griffin in a crown on their emblem. The red griffin still adorns the hoods of tractor units, reminding everyone around about the truck producer's slogan "King of the Road".
