Previously, a few milliseconds before the airbag is triggered, the pretensioner removes the free play of the seat belt using the built-in pyrotechnic cartridge, having received a command from the electronic safety system control unit. The SRS unit, in the event of a collision, receives signals from several impact sensors located in different areas of the vehicle. Depending on the brand, model and configuration, cars can have a different number of airbags installed, from 0 to 10 or more.
