Vehicles require filtration of engine oil, fuel and incoming atmospheric air. To protect vehicle components and assemblies from dust and moisture and extend their service life, constant filtration with replaceable filters is used. In the engine and transmission, the oil is filtered from carbon particles and metal shavings that arise during the mechanical wear of rubbing surfaces. Atmospheric air entering the engine passes through a filter element in the engine intake tract. Fuel entering the engine from the fuel tank is filtered in one or more fuel filters. In addition, the atmospheric air for the air suspension is filtered separately. The cabin ventilation system also has a separate filter to purify the air in the microclimate system. More
