While the engine is running, the device powers on-board electrical consumers and charges the battery. It has a cast aluminum alloy body. The main parts of the alternator are the voltage regulator, rotor, brush block, stator, and diode bridge. The alternator is installed on the vehicle’s power unit as an attachment. Typical causes of problems with the alternator are: loosening of the drive belt; wear of the graphite brushes; destruction of the winding dielectrics; and wear of the rotor support bearings. More
